2009 Firefighters of the Year

(December 10, 2009) -  At the Department’s Annual Christmas Party, Chief Joey Tanner announced the 2009 Firefighters of the year.

 

Firefighter Michael Armstrong (right) was selected as the Firefighter of the year.  Michael joined the department in 1990 and is an accomplished firefighter, apparatus engineer and hazardous materials technician.

 

Lieutenant Rob Stamper (left) joined the department in 2004 and became a Lieutenant in July of 2007.  Stamper is an EMT, hazardous materials technician and a South Carolina Fire Academy Instructor.  Rob is also a volunteer member of the Andrews Fire Department.

 

Also chosen, but not pictured, was Jimmy Anderson as the 2009 Volunteer Firefighter of the Year.  Jimmy has been a volunteer with the department since July 2000.
