2008 Firefighters of the Year

December 6, 2008 - Georgetown City Fire Officials announced it’s 2008 firefighters of the year during the annual Christmas party.  Firefighters of the year are elected by the department’s membership annually for outstanding service to the department.

 

The 2008 Firefighter of the Year is A Shift firefighter Dennis J. Altman.  Altman is a 18 year veteran of the department and also serves as a member of the Johnsonville Fire District.

 

The 2008 Fire Officer of the Year is B Shift Battalion Chief Bobby L. Pack.  Chief Pack was also selected as Officer of the Year in 2001 and again in 2006.  Chief Pack has served the department for 34 years.

 

The department’s 2008 Volunteer firefighter of the year is Don Pester.  Don was previously the department’s Training Officer and is retired from the Florence Fire Department.  Pester was also selected in 2005 and as Officer of the Year in 2003.
