Chief Cobb Retires

March 21, 2006 - Battalion Chief Lorenza Cobb and his wife Martha were honored by the department with a retirement luncheon after twenty nine years of service.  Chief Cobb began his service to the department in December of 1977.  He progress through the department from firefighter to sergeant, then to lieutenant and captain before being named Battalion Chief in August of 2003.

In a commendation delivered to Chief Cobb by Fire Chief Joey Tanner, Chief Cobb was noted as having touch many fire fighter's lives, encouraging their training and helping them to succeed.

After the formal ceremony his shift presented him with a couple of rod and reels, a tackle box and cooler so he can spend time in his favorite sport, fishing.  Chief Cobb was in command of A shift.

The Battalion Chief's Assessment Center will convene in early April to name a successor to Chief Cobb.
