Chief Tanner announced the recipients of the 2004 Firefighter, Volunteer and Officer of the year during the annual Christmas party December 14th. Selected by the Department's membership Lieutenant Charles W. Cribb was selected the Officer of the year; Firefighter Shane Singletary was selected Firefighter of the year and Volunteer Firefighter Jimmy Douglas was selected Volunteer of the year.
Firefighter Singletary is currently serving in the Persian Gulf with the 178th Field Artillery unit of the South Carolina Army National Guard, his wife, Su Anne, accepted the award on his behalf
